  • Don Dunstan, the 35th Premier of South Australia, was born in Suva, Fiji, on the 21st of September 1926. Dunstan was Premier from the 1st of June 1967 to the 17th of April 1968 and then again from June 2nd 1970 until the 15th February 1979.

1933

  • Australian Football Hall of Fame coach and player, Allan Jeans, was born in Finley, New South Wales, on this day in 1933. Between 1955 and 1959 Jeans played 77 games for St Kilda. He then went on to coach St Kilda, Hawthorn and Richmond between 1961 and 1992.

1957

  • The 26th Prime Minister of Australia, Kevin Rudd, was born in Nambour, Queensland, on the 21st of September 1957. He was Prime Minister from the 3rd of December 2007 to the 24th of June 2010 and then again from June 27th 2013 until the 18th September 2013.
