1941

  • The battle between the Australian light cruiser HMAS Sydney and the German auxiliary cruiser Kormoran took place on the 19th of November 1941, off the coast of Western Australia. Both ships were destroyed in the half-hour battle. 645 Australian and 77 German lives were lost.
